FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ABOUT THE MANUAL
What ages is this manual for?
It is recommended for ages 3 and up; however, It is up to the individual user to determine if the manual is appropriate for their specific client or child. We purposely used real photographs for our images in Step by Step Spatial Concepts, to appeal to both younger children and older students with more complex comprehension challenges.
Do I have to ask every question in the manual?
No. For example, with a younger preschooler, a clinician/parent may simply look at the pictures and talk with the child while emphasizing the concept words. School-age students who have not mastered these key spatial concepts may benefit from using the scripts to ensure adequate trials. However, we recommend including hands-on learning and use of the target vocabulary in relationship to the child and their physical environment, along with the manual. For example, when working on through and around, a small object (toy car, ball, etc.) and a paper towel roll can be used to demonstrate the concepts.
Do you have more supporting activities to teach spatial concepts?
